There is a battle going on in the US election for the votes of evangelical Christians. In previous elections, some 80% of evangelicals voted for Donald Trump. But, according to Anthony Scaramucci on the Rest is Politics US, it wasn´t so much that they saw him as one of them, but that he was prepared to give them what they wanted.
Kamala Harris is very different. As, a long-term member of a Baptist church, she is “a sister in Christ” and the evangelical vote is now split, with a new website favouring her.
The Religion Media Centre in the UK reports that evangelical Christians in the US have held three rallies in the last few days to support her. One supporter, singer Malynda Hale, said: “I have been a progressive Christian and … I feel like my faith has been hijacked by people who only talk about what they’re against. We know this election is important and that is why we are choosing ‘love for the win’.”
