Travel news magazine, Travel + Leisure, reported the results of the recent InterNations’ Expat Insider 2025 report – which evaluates five key aspects of daily living, from safety and healthcare to leisure, transportation, and environmental conditions – and found that Spain had the best healthcare for expats in the world. Their subcategory for healthcare looked at affordability, availability, quality, and equality of access, and Spain scored well across each measure.
83% of respondents found healthcare to be affordable (cf 59% global average), 82% found it was easy to access, and 81% rates the overall quality highly (cf 67% globally).
The article also said that Spain had the highest life expectancy in the European Union and rates of ‘avoidable hospitalisations and preventable mortality’ were among the lowest.
