On Remembrance Sunday we remember the sacrifice of those who defended our freedoms and protected our way of life, through two world wars and beyond. In particular, we remember the armed forces and their families, as well as the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.

We also remember those parts of the world which are being devastated by war even now, particularly Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar and Israel/Palestine/Lebanon. Here life is being torn apart and people on all sides are losing those that they love.

There will be two Remembrance Sunday services. Here at St George’s, the service will begin at 10:45am to enable us to be at the War Commission graves for as close as possible to 11:00 GMT (click here for more details). There will also be a service at Parque La Viña, Mollina in the north of Malaga province, at 11.45am (click here for more details)

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them”.
