Pope Leo has said the Christmas story should remind us of our duty to help the poor and strangers.
According to a story in the Guardian, the Pope said in his Christmas Eve sermon, that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room in the inn showed that refusing to help those in need was tantamount to rejecting God himself.
He went onto say that Jesus’ birth showed God’s presence in every person, as he celebrated Christmas mass in St Peter’s Basilica. “On earth, there is no room for God if there is no room for the human person. To refuse one is to refuse the other”.
