It is wonderful that these people are putting themselves forward for ordination. Let us remember them in our prayers as they make their final preparations in the coming weeks.
As an aside, it is interesting to see that all 12 candidates come from just 6 countries, all in north western Europe (Austria, Switzerland, France, Holland, Norway, Denmark) from our vast Diocese of 30 countries – from Morocco at one end to Moscow at the other. Unlike Dioceses in the UK where the Diocesan Common Fund it used to balance out financial resources between wealthier and poorer parishes, the history of this Diocese has been different and we each stand financially on our own two feet!
