Sur in English reported this week that Malaga tourism remains buoyant, even in the conference business.

2025 brought a record revenue to Malaga of €284 million from conference tourism, 7% higher than the previous year – made up of 2,215 professional meetings/events and 330,000 attendees.

Conventions and forums accounted for 80% of all meetings, followed by conferences (10%) and incentive trips (8%). Seven out of ten participants were Spanish and eight out of ten of the rest were from elsewhere in Europe.

And according to Jacobo Florido, Malaga Councillor for Tourism, satisfaction levels were high, at an average of 9.4 out of 10. People mostly praised the cuisine, the climate, safety and the culture & leisure of the city.
