Vatican News reported on release of the logo and motto for Pope Leo’s visit to Spain in June (see picture above).
The logo is designed to show “community, encounter and mutual support. This does not mean only being together, but also walking together toward a common purpose”, with the Virgin Mary at its centre – a sign of unity and hope for all people.
The motto, which translates as ‘Lift up your eyes’ (John 4:35), invites us to look beyond our daily concerns and rediscover the presence of God while opening ourselves to others. According to the article, it “also expresses the attitude with which the Church in Spain welcomes the Holy Father’s visit: with open hearts, ready to walk forward together”.
