A slightly different story this one. The UK’s Co-op Funeralcare Funeral Directors have published the top 10 popular music choices, requested by the families of the deceased to have at their funeral.
Co-op Funeralcare conducts over 90,000 funerals annually, according to their most recent data from the last 12 months. This makes them the UK’s largest national funeral provider. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Co-operative Group, a consumer co-operative owned by millions of UK members.
The aim of the funeral music charts is to identify the country’s favourite popular farewell songs. As big players in this market, Co-op Funeralcare have been compiling funeral music charts for over 20 years.
As a priest and a musician I am fascinated by this, but I felt there were few surprises in their top 10.
