It appears that Spain has the highest percentage of people living in flats in the EU, and the smallest percentage in houses.
In 2024, 51% of the EU’s population lived in a house, while 48% lived in a flat. The highest share of the population living in a house was in Ireland (90%), and the lowest in Latvia and Spain (35%), according to the EU’s statistical office. See graph above.
