In October last year at our Harvest Festival, we launched Count Me In, an initiative to encourage people to donate to the church on a regular basis through bank transfer. We  would like to give particular thanks to those who came forward and joined up. Regular and consistent giving enables the church to plan forward, and that means we can use our funds more efficiently, so the money goes much further.

At Harvest Festival this year – on Sunday 13th October – we will be renewing the Count Me In scheme. Harvest is the time that we remember all that God gives us, and we respond by sharing that generosity with others. So it is a good time to remind ourselves that generosity lies at the heart of our faith, and think seriously about the use that we make of our time, our skills and our money, and how we could give something to the church, and our care of God’s creation.

Last year Count Me In made a good start, but we need to do more. As you read this news piece and reflect on the issues the church is facing, would you consider joining the Count Me In scheme, or, for those who have already joined, increasing what you give? We know this is not easy and we are so thankful for your generosity – in terms of money, skills and time, but also for your prayers and your fellowship.

At the Harvest Festival there will be a new, simpler sign up mechanism for Count Me In, and a new brochure to explain it. Please join us on that day and help us celebrate all that God has given us.

Heavenly Father,
thank you for the gift of life, love and your Son, Jesus Christ.
Help us to be generous in return, and support our church
as it seeks to serve you and proclaim the Gospel afresh to each generation.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen
