Not yet fed up with talk of the American election? Then see two interesting stories that appeared in today’s news.
The European Correspondent, a new news service which mails out European stories each day, and is renowned for the quality of its graphics, came out with an analysis, country by country of who Europeans would like to win the election. You can see the results, and their remarkable graphic, here.
Also today, and interesting article by Jonathan Freedland in The Guardian, under the compelling heading, ‘Here’s how the winner of the 2024 US presidential election did it’.
His starting point is the story of Boris Johnson, who uncertain of whether or not to support Brexit in the UK´s 2016 referendum, wrote two columns – one advocating leave, the other remain.
So in this article, recognising that if either candidate won, it would not entirely be a surprise, Jonathan Freedland sketches out two articles – one a plausible case for how Donald Trump won the presidency and the second, an equally plausible case for Kamala Harris.
