Age in Spain, the national charity for older English-speakers who’ve made Spain their home, is launching a poster campaign. The idea is to reach both English speakers looking for support with admin procedures, medical matters or other governmental systems, and local Spanish health & social service practitioners who struggle to support people who cannot express themselves very well in Spanish.

Among the practical support they provide is an Information Service (telephone and email) to help people navigate the Spanish systems and processes, a ‘Friendline’ phone-based service for people who are lonely, and casework services delivered by well-trained volunteers. All are free to use.

Age in Spain is working with English churches here in southern Spain, including St George’s,  to find ways by which we might use their more professional services in the delivery of our pastoral care provision.

Do you know an elderly English speaker who needs help but can’t find their way into the system? Or do you have family, friends or neighbours who you feel are not getting the help they need?
